Terms of Service

Our terms and conditions

Last Updated: April 2026

Lore Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in London, United Kingdom, provides a family of products and services, including the SaaS application at ownable.dev, the HugoBlox platform at hugoblox.com, Hugo Chat at hugo.chat, the HugoBlox CLI, the Ownable CMS (VS Code Extension), and associated services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you (“User”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an entity (such as for a Team or Enterprise plan), you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THESE TERMS CONTAIN A BINDING ARBITRATION AGREEMENT AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER FOR USERS IN THE UNITED STATES.

1. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer

The Services utilize Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and machine learning models to assist you in generating code, website structures, and content. By using the Services, you acknowledge the following:

1.1. Probabilistic Nature

AI systems are probabilistic and may produce inconsistent, inaccurate, or "hallucinated" results. The code or content generated by the Services (“Output”) may contain errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities.

1.2. Human in the Loop

You are responsible for reviewing, testing, and verifying all Output before deploying it to a production environment. You agree that Lore Labs is not responsible for any website downtime, data loss, or security breaches resulting from your use of unverified AI-generated code.

1.3. No Guarantee of Uniqueness

Due to the nature of AI, the Services may generate identical or similar code structures for other users who provide similar prompts.

2. Access and Use

2.1. License to Use

Subject to these Terms and your payment of applicable fees:

  • SaaS (ownable.dev): We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the hosted services.
  • Client Software (CLI & Studio): We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the HugoBlox CLI and VS Code Extension on devices you own or control, solely for the purpose of developing websites using the HugoBlox framework.

2.2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services.

2.3. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and API keys. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

2.4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services to generate phishing sites, malware, or content that promotes illegal acts, violence, or hate speech.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the HugoBlox CLI, Studio, or proprietary AI models.
  • Use automated scripts to "scrape" the Services or bypass rate limits/credit consumption limits.
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Services without our express written consent.

2.5. Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at our sole discretion, including for violation of these Terms or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to other users, third parties, or the Services, without prior notice and without liability to you. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.

3. Subscription Plans, Fees, and Credits

3.1. Plans (Free, Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise)

The Services are offered under various plans. Features, seat limits, and usage caps for each plan are described on our pricing page.

  • Team/Enterprise Accounts: The entity owning the account is responsible for all fees and the conduct of authorized users (seats). The account owner retains the right to manage access and data within the workspace.

3.2. Billing and Renewal

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (weekly, monthly, or annually). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it via your account settings.

3.3. Taxes

All listed prices are exclusive of applicable sales taxes (e.g., VAT, GST). Where required by law, tax will be added at checkout based on your billing location and shown before payment is taken.

3.4. Changes to Pricing, Plans, and Features

The Services rely on rapidly evolving third-party AI models, and our underlying costs and capabilities can change quickly. We therefore reserve the right to modify our prices, plans, included features, credit allocations, and Fair Use limits at any time and at our sole discretion.

  • New customers: Pricing and plan changes apply immediately to new sign-ups and to any new plan you switch to.
  • Existing subscribers: If we materially increase the price of a plan you are already subscribed to, or meaningfully reduce its included features or credits, we will give you reasonable advance notice (typically by email or a prominent in-product notice) before the change takes effect at your next renewal. You may cancel before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue at the new terms.
  • Discontinuation: We may discontinue a plan, feature, or credit type with reasonable notice. Where possible we will offer migration to a comparable plan.

3.5. AI Credits and Fair Use

Certain plans operate on a "Credit" system for AI generation. Plans described as "Unlimited" do not deduct per-message credits but remain subject to the Fair Use Policy set out below. "Unlimited" does not mean without any limit.

  • Consumption: Credits are deducted based on the complexity and volume of the generation request.
  • Expiration: Unless otherwise stated in your plan, unused Credits reset at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
  • Overage: We reserve the right to throttle or pause your access if you exceed the specific limits of your plan or our Fair Use Policy.

Fair Use Policy: Fair use means usage consistent with individual human operation of the Services. Usage that places a disproportionate burden on our infrastructure — such as automated mass generation, scripted bulk requests, or patterns inconsistent with normal individual use — may result in throttling or suspension at our sole discretion.

3.6. Refunds

  • General: Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • UK/EU Consumers: If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you typically have a right to withdraw within 14 days. However, by using the Services (e.g., generating code, accessing premium templates) immediately upon purchase, you expressly verify that you want the Services to start immediately and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal.

4. Intellectual Property and Content

4.1. Your Input

You retain all ownership rights to the text, prompts, images, and data you provide to the Services (“Input”).

4.2. Ownership of Output

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Lore Labs hereby assigns to you all its right, title, and interest in and to the specific Output generated by the Services for you.

4.3. Third-Party and Premium Licenses

The Output may include or rely upon pre-existing code, templates, or libraries governed by separate licenses.

  • Premium Templates: If your Output is based on or utilizes HugoBlox Premium Templates, your use of that Output is strictly governed by the Premium License available at https://hugoblox.com/premium/license.
  • Open Source: Certain underlying components (e.g., Hugo themes, React components) may be subject to open-source licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0).

4.4. Platform IP

Lore Labs retains all rights, title, and interest in the Services, the underlying AI models, the "HugoBlox" and "Ownable" trademarks, and the Usage Data (anonymized/aggregated data used to improve the models).

5. Third-Party Integrations

The Services may integrate with third-party platforms (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Netlify, Vercel, Stripe).

  • We do not control these third-party services.
  • You are responsible for complying with the Terms of Service of any third-party platform you connect to our Services.
  • Lore Labs is not liable for any data loss or downtime caused by third-party providers.

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. LORE LABS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6.2. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LORE LABS AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF £100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

6.3. Exceptions (UK)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by the laws of England and Wales.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at /legal/privacy. We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

8.1. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

8.2. Jurisdiction (Non-US Users)

For users residing outside the United States, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

8.3. Dispute Resolution (US Users Only)

If you reside in the United States:

  • Arbitration: Any dispute or claim relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM).
  • Class Action Waiver: YOU AND LORE LABS AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
  • Opt-Out: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of accepting these Terms by sending a written notice to our registered address.

9. Miscellaneous

  • Modifications: We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
